After an awful first few years, the Timberwolves became one of the top teams in the NBA at the tail end of the 1990s. Although they have never been to an NBA Finals series, they managed to make it to the Conference Finals in 2004.
The Timberwolves are in a tough spot. The had been one of the hottest teams in the NBA at the beginning of the 2000s, but much of their star power left, and now they are struggling to get to the postseason, with a general manager few people agree with, in a tough division, and an even tougher Western Conference.
