Monster Truck History

Although motorsports tickets have been available for decades to different events, Monster Truck events date back to the late 1970's, when popular culture began to show many truck owners wanting the "built-up" pickup truck for their own purposes. Around that time, these lifted trucks began to perform at county fairs, and the sport gained a degree of tangibility when the United States Hot Rod Association (USHRA) bought out TNT Motorsports, which had been the "governing" body of this circuit. Standards were put in place and promotion was stepped up, leading to the cultural phenomenon that exists today.
